Course Description
Students in this course will review institutional corrections and punishment (penology). This course will provide students with the historic and contemporary views of jails and prisons. Students will examine the importance of evidence-based rehabilitation programming on the justice system. Additionally, students will analyze legislation and appellate decisions in correctional law for pretrial, convicted, and sentenced prisoners including death penalty sentences.
