Course Description
This is an introductory survey course that extends the curriculum of General Biology (BSC-1005).Aspects of the theory and dynamics of evolution and the origin and evolution of life are followed by biological classification and a survey of the kingdoms and domains of life.The structure and function of plants and animals are compared with particular emphasis on the anatomy and physiology of selected systems of the human body.Patterns of interaction of organisms with each other and their environment are explored together with the human impact on ecosystems and the environment.
